Stephanie and Cody first met back in the fall of 2007 --Cody's freshman year, and Stephanie's junior year-- at the High School of American Studies at Lehman College in the Bronx. Thanks to alphabetical order, Cody's locker was below Stephanie's, and they became friends, sometimes even taking the 26 bus home from school together, (usually accompanied by Stephanie's bestie Bridget). After graduation, the two sporadically stayed in touch, but really reconnected in 2019 when they realized that they both just happened to be working for the same company, in totally different departments. In November of that year, they went to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner, and then watched "The Walking Dead" together before Stephanie had to sprint off to work her overnight news shift... and the rest is, as they say, history.

From the moment He first saw this cool, fashionable upperclassman at HSAS Cody was instantly smitten. The way Stephanie commanded the hallway in her Hello Kitty attire but always managed to make time for the little people was special and so unlike the average NYer. They shared many tender stolen moments between classes and made it a habit to ride the bus home together as often as they could, spending hours after school hanging at a Dunkin before going their separate ways. Post high school they kept in touch, occasionally meeting up until 2019 when the coincidences were just too much to ignore: Cody happened to live around the corner from Steph's brother, and they even ended working for the same company and building! A formal date at the restaurant Santa Fe was what ultimately sealed the deal, not wanting the night to end just yet, Cody agreed to keep Steph company while she watched her favorite show, The Walking Dead, before she had to jet off to her overnight shift. Fast forward 4 years (to the day!) and they had their Engagement Party in that very same restaurant, surrounded by family and friends.
